This past weekend Ella Stevens competed in the Birel Art Series round three at Glan–Y-Gors. Ella started race day with the five minute warm up session in which she finished as the quickest.
For the first heat of the day Ella finished in first place with the fastest lap of the session, with a time of 49.433. This gave Ella pole position for the pre final.
In the pre final she was running well until the final lap of the race. Unfortunately she caught up to a back marker – he moved out of the way but an error on Ella’s part saw her go to the same side as the back marker which allowed the second and third placed drivers to dive past. Luckily Ella managed to keep on the tail of them and take third place.
She started the final in third place, after getting a good start to the race it was soon to be first place. The race was very close as the second placed driver was on her tail until the last lap. Once again she caught up with a back marker but this time managed to pass without any hesitation. She crossed the line to take her maiden victory in the Birel Art series.
The podium marked Ella’s first podium and win in the Birel Art series. The race event was filmed and will be released next week as well as the races being covered on Downforce Radio.
